The Sentury Landsail Qirin 990 scores in Swedish tyre tests
The Sentury Landsail Qirin 990 has achieved good results in the annual summer tyre test by the highly regarded Scandinavian car trade journal Vi Bilägare and the Swedish Aftonbladet.
In the general tyre test by Vi Bilägare the Qirin 990 holds its own between a number of competitors from the Premium segment, like the Continental Premium Contact 6, the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2, the Pirelli P7 Cinturato and the Michelin Primacy 4.
The Qirin scores very well on two important and weighty sections of this test. In the brake test on a wet road surface, the Qirin 990 stops remarkably fast. This perfectly matches the ‘B’ classification, mentioned on the tyre label for delivered performance on a wet road surface. In the braking test on a dry road surface, the Qirin 990 scores even better and thus ends up high in the ranking.
An impressive performance for a tyre that has a selling price of on average half of that of a Premium brand. Based on this price-quality ratio, the Qirin 990 gets in this test the predicate ‘Value for money’.
One of the journalists involved in the magazine reports that he is very pleased to see tyres from a lower price range performing so well. The short braking distances and safe driving behaviour, even when the demands on the tyre are extreme, combined with the low noise level of the tyres, is exactly what the majority of motorists need. With the achieved results, the Qirin 990 is on the heels of the Premium brands, and that is an excellent result for a tyre in this segment.
The test in Aftonbladet focuses especially on the braking performance on dry and wet surfaces. The Qirin 990 gets here the certificate very good (3 and 4 stars). Also on the part of aquaplaning (in this case a simulation of heavy Swedish summer rain) the Qirin 990 remains well controllable and scores a good enough. All in all a very satisfying score overall.
